What is the Postpartum Check-Up?
The postpartum check-up is a comprehensive physiotherapy assessment performed after childbirth to evaluate the recovery of the pelvic floor, abdominal muscles, breathing, and posture. This assessment helps us create a safe and individualized recovery plan and determine when and how you can safely return to exercise and daily activities
Who is it for?
Mothers from 6–8 weeks postpartum after vaginal delivery or caesarean section
What do we assess?
During the session, we perform a complete functional assessment including:
- Pelvic floor evaluation (muscle tone, control, scars, pain)
- Assessment of abdominal diastasis (separation and function)
- Posture and pressure management in different positions
- Breathing pattern and muscular compensation
- Daily movement strategies (how to carry the baby, breastfeeding posture, postural hygiene)
- Guidance for safe return to sport and exercise
- Assignment to the most appropriate recovery group (Core Restore) if needed
